Wastewater Treatment Plants
| Wastewater Treatment Plant (Movie/Film Developing Treatment Plant) |
 |
|
Site: Lane Cove, NSW
Completed: 2000
Capacity: 300 kL / day
Services: Design, Manufacture, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Operator Training, Maintenance
Special Features of the Wastewater Treatment Plant:
This Wastewater Treatment Plant was designed to reduce high levels of silver, iron, ammonia and sulphur compounds produced in a movie film developing process down to levels acceptable to Sydney Water for discharge to sewer.
Project Description of the Wastewater Treatment Plant :
The pH of the raw wastewater is raised, using sodium hydroxide, to precipitate the chelated compounds and to strip off the ammonia. The pH is then lowered with acid before the addition of coagulant and polymer, subsequent clarification and sand filtration. Apart from the process design, space restrictions due to the plant being housed in a multi level carpark ensured CRS’s engineering capabilities were fully tested.
