Waste Water Treatment Plants
Package Sewage Treatment Plant - 8
Site: Kestrel Mine, QLD
Completed: August, 2011
Capacity: 115kL/day
Services: Design, Manufacture, Supervise Installation, Commissioning, Operator Training
Special Features:
This Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) is designed to treat effluent from a mining camp to a quality suitable for irrigation. The plant is fully automated via a PLC and a touch screen operator interface.
Project Description:
The MBR process involves a suspended growth activated sludge system that utilises microporous membranes for solid/liquid separation in lieu of secondary clarifiers. The system includes sewage collection and balancing, screening and flow spitting, anoxic zone, and two individual containerised treatment trains featuring an aeration zone, submerged membranes and mixed liquor recycle. Phosphorous removal is achieved by metal salt chemical precipitation. Disinfection is undertaken using liquid chlorine dosing flow paced to the filtrate pump VSD.
