This water treatment plant uses Ultrafiltration (UF) to treat surface water for potable use. Backwash from the UF is thickened and a polymer added in-line prior to containment and dewatering in the Geotube® dewatering containers.

The Geotubes® dewatering containers are laid out in existing drying beds and will accept 8-10 times more flow than a normal drying bed before being taken off-line and undergoing final dewatering and consolidation.
Rainfall does not affect the contained sludge as water will not permeate the Geotube® dewatering containers due to it’s internal surface tension.
Depending upon the length of time the sludge is left to dry it will attain a solids percentage of > 40%.
