At this location municipal sewage sludge is directed to the Geotube® dewatering containers from the digester.
The period of time sludge takes to dry to the target solids percentage depends upon the sludge age, whether it has been preconditioned with polymer, the length of time it remains in the Geotube® dewatering containers and weather conditions during the drying period. Once sludge is placed in the Geotube® dewatering containers it will only become drier as rain does not penetrate the weave in the geotextile because of the surface tension on the inside of the Geotube® dewatering containers.
