CRS DEWATERING & DEWATERING PROJECTS

Dredging & Dewatering

Eastern Victoria

This project was a particularly interesting challenge as the sludge to be removed from this 0.7m deep drying pan had previously  been dried to ~ 20% solids before being rehydrated during a heavy rain event. The resultant sludge was a mix of “marbles” and fine-grained material, which proved to be a very difficult solids mix to extract.

An automatic submerged sludge harvester was used to transfer the sludge via our mobile polymer makedown rig before mixing and dewatering within the Geotube® container.

The Geotube® dewatering container was placed within a bunded drying bed and filtrate gravitated back to the head of the works.
