A Sydney industrial client had mercury contaminated sludge in the base of their cooling tower which needed to be removed, dewatered and sent to a capped landfill cell.

A Geotube® dewatering container, contained within a plastic lined industrial skip was used to dewater the contaminated sludge. The sludge was conditioned via a CRS automated liquid polymer makedown and dosing system. Filtrate from the bag was pumped away for treatment and the sludge in the bag was allowed to dry before being trucked to the landfill cell and tipped out intact.
