CRS DREDGING & DEWATERING PROJECTS
Dredging & Dewatering
South Eastern Victoria - Chicken Processing Plant
CRS were contracted to dredge and dewater 9,000m³ of anaerobic biological sludge in a facultative lagoon at a chicken processing plant in Southern Victoria. CRS proposed dewatering of the dredged material via their innovative Geotube® dewatering technology.
The lagoon to be dredged was - 800m from the Geotube® laydown area and consequently communication between the dredge and dewatering operators was necessary via two way radio. Two large Geotube® containers each 22.5mL x 18m wide were manifolded in a bunded area and filled at ~ 125m³ /hr via dual emulsion polymer makedown and dosing systems.
The full bags were lift to dry for some weeks and the dried sludge (>20% solids w/w) were used by a nearby commercial nursery in their composting plant.
